GDPR & Your Rights
Your rights regarding personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation.
MeteoIntel processes personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679). This page summarises your rights and how we apply them. For full details on what we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy.
Who is the data controller?
The data controller is MeteoIntel, Str Dr. Petre Herescu, Nr.12, Sector 5, Bucharest, Romania. For any request related to your personal data, contact us at [email protected].
Your rights under the GDPR
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or your data is processed in the EEA, you have the following rights:
- Right of access (Art. 15). You can ask us to confirm whether we process your personal data and, if so, to provide a copy and information about how we use it.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16). You can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17). You can ask us to delete your personal data in certain situations (e.g. it is no longer necessary, you withdraw consent, or you object and there are no overriding grounds).
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18). You can ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances (e.g. while we verify accuracy or while a dispute is resolved).
- Right to data portability (Art. 20). Where we process your data by automated means based on contract or consent, you can ask to receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, or to have it transmitted to another controller where technically feasible.
- Right to object (Art. 21). You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests. We will stop unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds. You may also object to processing for direct marketing at any time.
- Right to withdraw consent. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
- Right to lodge a complaint. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country of residence or place of work, or where an infringement is alleged. In Romania, the supervisory authority is the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP).
How to exercise your rights
To exercise any of the above rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within one month as required by the GDPR. We may ask you to verify your identity to protect your data. If your request is complex or we have many requests, we may extend the response period by up to two further months and will inform you.
Legal basis for processing
We process personal data only where we have a valid legal basis:
- Consent – e.g. optional cookies, marketing (where applicable)
- Contract – to provide our API and website services
- Legitimate interests – e.g. analytics (Google Analytics), security, responding to enquiries, improving our services
- Legal obligation – where we must retain or disclose data by law
International transfers
Our website and APIs are hosted with OVH, with data stored in the European Union where possible. If we or our providers (e.g. Google Analytics) transfer data outside the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g. adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses) as required by the GDPR.
